Beyond a seal of approval
When you think of a printing company, do you think of environmentally-friendly practices? Probably not, but we’re trying to change that. We believe that acting in accordance with the standards set by the industry is a given – any printer can and should do that. But we don’t see ourselves as just another printer, and have made sure our dedication to protecting the environment can be felt from the moment you step inside our doors.
As recognition for our dedication to environmentally-friendly practices we have received certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which ensures the responsible use of forest resources around the globe. This certification was granted by the Rainforest Alliance, whose mission is to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior.
In just the past two years alone, we've purchased 5,041,431 lbs of FSC/recycled stock. By choosing FSC & recycled stocks we saved:
- 9,052 trees
- 3,685 million BTUs of energy
- 896,036 lbs CO2 (green house gasses)
- 3,941,142 gallons of waste water
- 322,085 lbs of solid waste
And we realize that being environmentally-friendly goes way beyond just a seal of approval. At Teldon, we are constantly looking for new ways to reduce our environmental footprint through the use of innovative materials, technology and procedures. For instance:
- All paper waste and roll ends are recycled
- All office paper is recycled
- Metal plates and press blankets are recycled
- Inks and chemicals are recycled or disposed of using hazardous waste procedures
- Mechanical/electrical parts are machined and re-used whenever possible
- Packaging and shipping materials are re-used and/or recycled; this includes cartons, pallets, shrink wrap, strapping, etc.
Reduce the environmental impact of your next print run today - we can show you how.
